Part-time Nursing Instructors

We are currently recruiting part-time instructors within all our Nursing programs. We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic individuals with a passion for lifelong learning and who are invested in community building and student success. If you have professional experience in the fields listed below and the expertise to enrich students' academic and applied foundations in these areas, please apply directly online. The incumbents will teach within the Nursing Studies department.

Note: As part of the application process, applicants (not currently employed with the College) are required to include with a cover letter with details of all courses in the program that you have the knowledge and experience to teach/instruct. The list of courses for the programs and the descriptions are included as links below.

Part-time instructor positions may require the incumbent to deliver courses in Practical Nursing, the Bachelor of Science, Nursing, and Personal Support Worker programs (Theory, Lab or Clinical). Responsibilities will include course preparation, delivery and assessment of student work in accordance with College policies.

The various streams of study we are recruiting for include:

Practical Nursing
The Practical Nursing program is a 2-year Ontario College Diploma that consists of theory classes, laboratory and clinical practice experiences, culminating in a final preceptorship experience in the workplace, preparing practical nurses to practice in a variety of settings across Renfrew County.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at Algonquin College is offered in collaboration with the University of Ottawa, educating nurses at the undergraduate level. Students have the opportunity to experience classroom, laboratory and clinical learning in a wide variety of settings across Renfrew County. The program prepares graduates to take on the role of Registered Nurses, who care for people across the age span in a multitude of settings. Key program outcomes include developing critical thinking and communication skills, as students become professional nurses dedicated to lifelong learning and using information to solve problems as part of healthcare teams.

Personal Support Worker
The Personal Support Worker program is a 1-year Ontario College Certificate that prepares students to immediately work in a health care setting where they are making a difference in the lives of individuals who require assistance to remain as independent as possible.
